I love Steamboat in June! The river is roaring, the bees are buzzing, and everything is so green. It is a perfect time to step outside & into your hoop. Let your body become as alive as everything around you. Be as spirited as the wind whipping through the trees, the butterflies fluttering about. Let your imagination take you and your hoop soaring with the birds, high in the clear blue sky. Feel you soul awaken as the hoop orbits your body.

Classes

There are still two classes left of the the current Hoop Dance series. June 17th, and 24th. Special guest teacher David Harlan on June 24th will be leading a class on combinations. Join Jennifer at Northwest Ballet Studio from 12:15-1:15p.m. on Wednesdays!! Drop in rate for these classes is $12.

Our next Hoop Dance Beginner class series starts on July 1st. In this series we will develop the fundamentals of Hoop Dance. Each class will focus on one specific part of the body, and we will learn moves that relate to that body part and a hoop dance principle.

3rd Annual Free Family Fun Fest

David & Kristen from HulaFool Hoops will be hooping it up on June 20th at Gondola Square for the 3rd Annual Free Family Fun Fest. There will be amazing games prizes, and entertainment for everyone!! Please Join us on Monday nights for a community Hoop Jam. This is a great opportunity to work on your hoop skills, share what you know, learn something new, and get funky. Feel free to share other unique talents you have too! Juggle, spin poi or staff, drum, play the guitar, dance, read, have a picnic. Please join us at the Lil' Toots Park, and catch up with old friends or make a few new ones. Everyone is welcome!!

World Hoop Day 2009- Hooping for Whirled Peace!!

"Since 2007, World Hoop Day has been dedicated to bringing toy and dance hoops to underprivileged children living in extreme poverty and underdeveloped neighborhoods of our world. Founded by Annie O'Keeffe, and partnering with her husband, Kevin, World Hoop Day is a not for profit organization that uses a community-based approach to provide durable hoops. The adult-sized hoops can be used their entire life as a simple and effective way to bring joy to an otherwise devastating situation."

This year World Hoop Day will take place on 9/9/09. HulaFool.com would like to host its first ever World Hoop Day event in our community. Our vision is to create an event that will get Steamboat hooping, get children and adults playing together, and generate money to donate to both the World Hoop Day Organization and a local charity.
